first snow
Last week we woke up to the craziest snow storm, at least for October. It seriously dumped on us. The boys loved it, although not so much Brock; he didn't even like stepping in it. And I actually have learned to enjoy shoveling knowing I'm getting a great workout. :)
They had a snowball fight. Which also included throwing snowballs against the house to "decorate it for Christmas" since it was leaving white marks all over.
Posed for pictures
Made snow angels
Ate it
Brock's first time walking out in it, not sure how far to go
Hanging out in the garage, patiently waiting for us to be done

brock and trey
Here's Brock trying to be like his big brothers and dad.
This is Trey's favorite spot in the entire house. He piles up as many stuffed animals as he can and then reads, plays, sits, anything. Often he'll have Brock come with him, I just haven't captured that yet.
After taking those pictures he said "now take a picture of me and Minnie!"

helping mom
I was addressing and getting a ton of letters ready to mail for soccer one morning with Brock (Seth was camping with the other 4). He watched me for a while and then just starting helping.
It was too cute I couldn't stop him. I figured nobody would mind a little dried baby slobber on their envelopes.

peyton and baseball
Peyt played in an instructional baseball league. Our third boy to do it, our third time wondering why we wasted our time. :) And we'll probably still do it a 4th and 5th time. When the boys see their brothers playing all these different sports, they just beg and beg and get so excited to finally do something. So I guess it's worth it. I guess...
Not exactly sure what he's doing here while on base, but I do know I caught him busting some moves a few times in outfield. So this may have just been another one of those times.
What I had to do with Brock in order to get the pictures of Peyt :)
Definitely would not give me a smile.

new hair gel
Brock loves eating watermelon.
He's recently discovered a new way to let me know he's done.
Yep, this is a regular occurance. Even if I make him eat one piece at a time, he always ends the meal with one on his head.

happy ONE year
My baby is now one!!
Although according to Peyt, he's still zero. Why? Because he didn't even grow yesterday!
It's so crazy because I thought for sure I'd be SO sad, knowing he is my last. And the truth is, I'm not. Sure, I'm sad, but not any more so than when any of my other boys turned one. Yes, it's sad because the time is going by so fast with ALL my boys, but I'm also loving the thought of being done with the baby stage. (And especially nursing. Woo hoo!!) And I know that 5 boys is a whole lot to take care of and my boys definitely deserve to have more of their mom's attention, instead of hearing 'after I feed the baby' or 'we can't because the baby is/needs [fill in the blank]'.
But I digress. So here's the real post.
This was really the first picture I got.
Really mom? Again?
Fine, I'll give you a couple silly smiles
Can you believe the goofy hat my mom put on me?!
Cake Time
Seriously? What am I supposed to do with this thing that is already starting to lean?
Hmm... tasty.
Two hands!
Perfect after dessert treat - a good thumb suck.
Yes, I eventually ate something healthy.
(And for the record, no I don't go around giving my one year old whole
apples, but he stole this from Trey and was just way too cute trying to
get some tastes.)
Happy Birthday to our perfect little one year old!!
We're so extremely lucky to have you!!

brock and the characters
I love how in so many of the pictures with characters Brock canNOT take his eyes off of them. And usually looked so confused. I guess Trey did it a lot too. :)

my not so little baby
I still can't believe how old Brock is. He is less than 4 months away from his first birthday! I know!! I'm in denial too.
He still is pretty much the perfect baby. Sometimes I wonder if we maybe should've had one more as long as I could be guaranteed they'd be just as good and then I take all 5 boys to any store and realize that has got to be the most insane thought I've ever had. I don't know what gets into my boys once we step into a store, but no matter how good (or bad ;) they've been beforehand, they suddenly become fighting, hiding, screaming ninjas who think the store is their playground.
P.S. I don't really wonder if we should have one more baby. I'm totally still happy and at peace with our decision to be done. :)
showing off his smile
He is definitely a curious little boy. Notice the destruction he left behind him. I pick that mess up multiple times a day and if I had a different place to put all that stuff, I would surely move it. Yes, I know they make nifty little things to childproof doors, not sure why I don't invest in some.
Oh how we love this little guy!!
