first snow

Last week we woke up to the craziest snow storm, at least for October. It seriously dumped on us. The boys loved it, although not so much Brock; he didn't even like stepping in it. And I actually have learned to enjoy shoveling knowing I'm getting a great workout. :)

They had a snowball fight. Which also included throwing snowballs against the house to "decorate it for Christmas" since it was leaving white marks all over.

Posed for pictures

Made snow angels

Ate it

Brock's first time walking out in it, not sure how far to go

Hanging out in the garage, patiently waiting for us to be done

brock and trey

Here's Brock trying to be like his big brothers and dad.

This is Trey's favorite spot in the entire house. He piles up as many stuffed animals as he can and then reads, plays, sits, anything. Often he'll have Brock come with him, I just haven't captured that yet.

After taking those pictures he said "now take a picture of me and Minnie!"

trey is three

I still cannot believe it. But, yes, Trey is THREE!! He is such a fun character.
He knows he's funny and LOVES making us laugh.
He can be very rough with Brock but also incredibly sweet.
He's so smart as he tries to do everything his older brothers do.
Oh how we love our little Tater Tot! :)

brock and the characters

I love how in so many of the pictures with characters Brock canNOT take his eyes off of them. And usually looked so confused. I guess Trey did it a lot too. :)

minnie

Trey's favorite character is Minnie. Even though he used to call her Mickey. He carries a little doll of her around with him everywhere - including the Blue and Gold Banquet last night.

Here he is getting kissed

And here he is giving a kiss

Pardon my sister's hand in the picture. If I was better, I'd crop it out now before posting it, but I'm not. It will be easy to just crop it out when scrapbooking. And it looks like maybe she got a better picture of the kiss than I did. Perhaps she can email it to me. ;)

He just loves looking at these pictures!! It renews his love all over again!

the terrific two's!!

Trey turned two. (What is that - an alliteration?)
Sometimes it seems crazy cause he's still like a baby. Other times he seems to be growing up so quickly.
He is saying new words every day. He's definitely learned how to tattle-tale.

He loves Brock so much. Sometimes too much. He gets mad if I take Brock away when he's trying to hug him - or more like smother.

He is so independent already. If there's something he wants, he tries his best to get it on his own. And almost always succeeds.

And he's already learned to whistle. :) (I have got to remember to not talk in videos)

And some pictures from his big day

Birthday Breakfast

Opening Presents

Birthday Dinner

Birthday Dessert Nachos
Allow me to explain - We had Cole's friend party not so long ago and that cake lasted a while.
For Father's Day we had ice cream cake and there was still some in the freezer.
I was all caked out.
I made him a plate of dessert nachos. Yummy cinnamon chips with strawberries on top. Drizzled with chocolate. Normally Trey loves strawberries. But once he tasted the cinnamon and chocolate, he picked off the strawberries and licked the cinnamon and chocolate.

Didn't seem to miss the cake.

trey

I've actually been taking quite a few pictures of Trey lately so I thought I'd do a little update on my baby. [Can't belive in 7 weeks he will no longer be the 'baby'!! I'm definitely worried he's going to have a much harder time than any of my other boys had when we had a new baby because we've all been treating him so much like a 'baby'. Oh well... I guess we'll deal with that when it happens. Who knows? Maybe he'll surprise me!]

I realize the next 2 pictures aren't very attractive, but I had to include them because he's lately become obsessed with sunglasses, gloves and hats. Whenever he finds any of those he immediately puts them on or asks me to.

He has recently decided he will put himself down for naps. And it's never late in the day - lest you think he does it just because he's exhausted or I've been neglecting him. Between 9 and 10, he'll climb up on our bed, move the pillows around, lay down and go to sleep.

He LOVES helping load and unload the dishwasher. Whenever he hears or sees me open the dishwasher, he runs over, climbs up (which I totally know I shouldn't let him do) and holds his hand out for the next item to load.

loading it

how it looks when he's finished

A few other pictureless things he's started doing lately:

-instead of crying when he wakes in the morning, he just calls out "Mom! Mama!" over and over til I get him

-whenever I give him anything, he says "Gakes" [thanks :)]

-runs to the front window when Easton and Cole are walking to the bus stop to wave

-blows kisses when his brothers tell him goodnight
We love our baby Trey!

if you give...

If you give a one year old a whole granola bar instead of breaking it into smaller pieces like he's used to...

he'll make a HUGE mess.

Then he'll need a bath.

If you give a one year old his second bath of the day...

He'll be ready to run, laugh, play and make you smile.
