peyton and baseball

Peyt played in an instructional baseball league. Our third boy to do it, our third time wondering why we wasted our time. :) And we'll probably still do it a 4th and 5th time. When the boys see their brothers playing all these different sports, they just beg and beg and get so excited to finally do something. So I guess it's worth it. I guess...

Not exactly sure what he's doing here while on base, but I do know I caught him busting some moves a few times in outfield. So this may have just been another one of those times.

Soccer Boy

Cole had his very first soccer game a couple weekends ago. On the way to his game he said "I can't believe I finally get to be the soccer boy!"
I realize they aren't the greatest pictures but he made it kind of difficult. It often looked like he was dancing more than playing soccer.

Team Batman #4

Earlier this week we went school shopping for Easton. (I know! I can't believe he's almost starting Kindergarten either!) Before we went shopping I had decided I would also get the other boys one thing - thanks to an amazing coupon I won (yes, I won $75 off $100!). Easton had seen the superhero shirts at Old Navy before and asked for one but I didn't let him get one then. This time I told him he could pick one out. So of course Cole asked if he could have a Batman shirt after Easton picked one out. The minute Peyton saw them he started saying "Batman shirt? Batman shirt?" So we grabbed one for him as well and went to look at other things. Suddenly it hit me that I have 4 boys and there's no way I could only get 3 of them Batman shirts. And there you have it, the reason I now have a Batman Team.

How I've Been Spending My Summer Vacation

I don't think these really need much explanation. With Seth for a dad, there's no way they couldn't be playing t-ball already. And we definitely are getting lots of it. There was one week that between Easton, Cole and Seth we had baseball games every single night of the week! (I can only imagine what it will be like when Peyton and baby are old enough to play!!!)

Before Arizona...

Things were kind of crazy before we left to Arizona, so I forgot to show a few pictures.

Easton finished his first soccer season. It was so much fun to watch him play and even more exciting to watch his confidence grow! Good job East and can't wait for your next season to start!

Preschool Graduation
My small preschool had our graduation. It was definitely nothing big, but still fun. (The empty chair was for Peyton, he always had to be a part of everything but this time chose to sit by Grandma.)
They sang a few songs they had learned, including the days of the week in Spanish :)

Handing out diplomasI had so much fun doing this preschool (although I am certainly glad it is over for now - maybe because I'm ready to have a baby). My kids were all so fun - they often had me laughing so hard I was crying - and they really taught me a lot. Thanks for a great year my little preschoolers!

Gooooaaaaallllll

Easton hasn't been as excited about soccer as I had hoped, but slowly as his confidence is growing, he is enjoying it more and more. This past game was a huge confidence boost as he scored not just once, but twice! His face was priceless. Both times he just looked so shocked and amazed, and kept giving Seth and I the cutest grin ever. It was so adorable! (Can I call a tough soccer player that?)

Mini Golf

We had so much fun miniature golfing the other day. Nothing terribly exciting or blog-worthy happened, I just thought I'd do another quick, boring update.


First of all, I couldn't believe the size of the putter they had for Peyton (I think you can see it in the pictures). It was SO cute! It seriously was a perfect size for him. After he watched Easton and Cole hit their balls for the very first time, we set his ball down and told him to hit it. He walked up to it and and proceeded to pound the ball repeatedly as if it needed a beating. It was SO funny! Then a few holes later, he was trying to hit it the "correct" way and after missing it a few times, he bent down and hit it toward the hole with his hand. I just can't get enough of his hilarious personality!


Here's cute Cole getting ready to hit the ball. He called all the holes, "levels". After finishing the first hole, he announced "I'm done with Level 1. Now I'm on Level 2!" Cole was the only one of us to get a hole in one! Woo hoo!
Easton tried real hard to learn how to do it correct and was getting quite good. After hitting a good shot he told me, "Mom, I must be a golfing pro, huh?" Absolutely East!!

Easton's Turn in the Pool

Easton finally was able to have his swimming lessons. He was counting down the days for almost 2 weeks. Every day he had swimming lessons he put his swim suit on in the morning instead of clothes. He did so good! At first he would barely put his face in the water without plugging his nose, but quickly he was staying underwater for a very long time ("like a jillion seconds, huh mom?") without plugging his nose and loved that he could open his eyes underwater.

He thought he was pretty cool when they went to the deep end with life jackets on. He was so excited to tell anyone who would listen "I swam all by myself on my back but with a life jacket on." And even later in the day he told me "Mom, I just can't believe it. I swam all by myself on my back. I just can't believe it!"

Swimming Lessons

Cole just finished swimming lessons, if you can even call them that. They were the preschool level and it was mostly exploring the water and feeling comfortable in it by playing games. He was super excited and started his first day good. However, after nearly drowning the first day (yes, Seth had to jump in and grab him because neither of his teachers or the lifeguards noticed he couldn't get up) he was understandably nervous. Seth and I had to take turns each day going in the water with him, til the last 3 lessons. If he wasn't thinking too much about it, he would do everything they asked, blow bubbles, put face in water, talk to the fish and listen for them to talk back and I'm very proud of him. Hopefully if we go swimming enough, he'll go back to how he was before his tramautic experience and love the water.

Playing T-Ball

Easton just finished his first year of T-Ball. Mostly it was learning what order to run the bases in :) and how to hit and catch. The last week they played a game and I was so proud of Easton. He didn't hit the ball off the tee his first time, or second, or third... but he kept on trying! A year ago, he refused to try hitting in front of people because he was afraid he would miss. He did eventually get a great hit and then made it around the bases. Good job East!!
