easton's christmas party

I was making invitations for Seth's Christmas Party for his Young Men. Easton was in the room and kept saying it wasn't fair that dad would get a Christmas Party and we wouldn't. I told him if he planned one - he could have one. While I was still working on the invitations, he jumped on the computer, printed off invitations and planned the entire thing. I thought it was way too cute. I was also relieved to find out he was only inviting the family and I wasn't going to have to either have a party for a bunch of friends or tell him he actually couldn't do it.

Sadly, I did not take pictures of the party cause sometimes I'm just spacey like that. But we really did everything he planned and had TONS of fun. :)

He was so excited about his BYU hat, shirt and football that he wouldn't let me take a picture of him until he put them on.

 All worn out from opening presents, he fell asleep while sucking on a treat from his stocking.

Now that Christmas is almost here and gone... I'm finally getting around to posting a couple of the things we did this month.

Making Gingerbread Houses and Cookies

that I made from scratch!! I was pretty impressed with myself when they stayed up overnight (and are still standing today). And surprisingly it was not difficult and TONS cheaper than the kits we bought last year. I told Seth I'll be an expert at baking them (because there were definitely still some issues) in 3 years, so if anyone wants help then, feel free to ask. ;)

We did the cookies and set the houses up one night, so we could make sure they would actually stand. And decorated the houses the next night.

end of october recap (and picture overload)

 I had a crazy (and pretty lazy - although I'm pregnant so I can be :) last couple weeks so I'm cramming a few things into one big long post.

We went to a new pumpkin patch this year. They had a straw maze for the kids that our boys loved. And then we went out to pick pumpkins.

Trey wanted nothing to do with the pumpkins. Every time I tried to get him to hold one, he'd push it away in disgust.

 They had fun wagon things to load the pumpkins up in that the boys loved pulling (or attempting to pull for Cole and Peyt) and especially riding in it with the pumpkins.

Carving Pumpkins
Easton is making that very unattractive face to show his strong dislike of having to clean out the pumpkins. It took us way too long to force convince him to do it. He started out washing off his hand after each time he stuck it inside the pumpkin. Eventually he did clean it out on his own and hopefully next year he'll remember that it's not going to kill him.

We had cake for my 30th birthday the same night we carved the pumpkins. And Seth really put on 30 candles. So sweet of him, right? Luckily, it was a piece of cake :) to blow them out with all my helpers.

Unfortunately, I didn't take pictures of the other two before we went out. Not being smart enough to realize that since it was cold and rainy, they'd rip off their wet costumes as soon as we got in the door. In my defense, I always take pictures of them after we've gone trick-or-treating, showing off all their candy while still in their costumes. Oh well, Cole was Darth Vadar and Easton was Batman, both of which were a couple sizes too big, so I'm sure they'll be them again in a couple years. :)
