Easton's Mario Party 6

I can't believe Easton is 6! How in the world did that happen? He is such a funny and sweet boy. He loves laughing! He is also so loving and smart. He is always offering to read books to his brothers, which they just love. He is such a great example to his younger brothers and parents. We couldn't have asked for a better son and brother. We love you East the Beast!

Birthday BreakfastEaston decided he wanted a Super Mario Party theme. I searched a few different stores for anything Mario but couldn't find a single thing. I think it ended up being super fun anyways. They played different 'Mini Games' to win coins and then got to turn their coins in for candy. It was absolutely exhausting but totally worth it. Even with Seth home to help it was exhausting. Thank goodness I decided to do it on a Saturday, I could never have done it without him.

Popping balloons to find coins inside. It was hilarious to see the kids try to pop them in so many different ways, especially when it didn't work. ;)
We had garbage bags of these balls that we dumped on top of them (which was really fun for me and them :) and then they had to gather the balls to have ready to knock the bad guys over when it was their turn. I wish I could have gotten a picture of dumping the balls on them, they were all seriously LOVING it - but Seth was out picking up the pizza - their expressions would have been awesome.
Showing off the balls they gathered. I love this picture because of Peyton's gigantic smile. He was seriously loving everything we did. It was adorable.
Throwing balls to knock over the bad guys. Easton said this was his favorite game and all the kids seemed to really love it. But I guess when you have permission to throw balls in the house and try and knock things over, it would be impossible not to love.
The chain chomp pinata (originally a soccer ball :)
When we put the blindfold on him, he was so concerned he was going to hit someone, or maybe that was just his excuse to try to get us to take the blindfold off
The amazing Mario cake that my sister Vannessa made! She even made the Mario guy! All without any lesson, class or instruction. So impressive!

First Day of Kindergarten

Easton had his first day of Kindergarten on Monday and then had the rest of the week off while his teacher met with each student individually. He was super excited as soon as he woke up that morning. And I wasn't feeling sad at all, like I was expecting to, I was just feeling excited for him.

Before getting in the car to go to school
Sitting at his table for the first time (I think he thought I was just going to take off, so he got a little nervous)
Feeling a little more relaxed
As he was walking up to me when we went to pick him up
I asked him how his day was and he said "Fine." I said "Just fine? Wasn't it fun?" And he said, "Sure, fun and fine." I was expecting a lot more excitement out of him, but oh well, I guess the first day wasn't thrilling - except for the huge tower he built with blocks and that he could do the monkey bars all by himself 'cause his feet touch the ground' (he did eventually expand on what 'fine' meant). So yea! to our big boy for being so grown up and brave! (and me, cause I didn't even shed a tear :)

I'm officially begging....

So a while ago I entered Easton in a contest about how the new Trix cereal got it's swirls. We made it into the finals (along with nine others)!! I never really expected that we'd win, but decided that this is probably one of the only chances we'd ever have of winning $1000 dollars! (or $300 for second place!). So I'm just going to at least try my best to get Easton some more votes. Right now we're getting our butt kicked. And I know I don't have very many people that read this, but every vote counts, right? And if you really wanted to help, you could ask all your friends to vote because all of you have TONS of friends (on your blog or facebook :) But of course, no hard feelings if you don't, PROMISE!
You just go to this link, scroll down (past the videos - watch them if you want :) and vote for me (Dezi Allen). It seriously takes less than 30 seconds. Hopefully knowing it is really very quick, will help anyone reading this vote. Thanks everyone!

Here's a picture of the big boy before we got in the car to go to his first day of Kindergarten! But I'll post more about that later.

Muffin Tin Monday

This week's theme was People and Faces. I gave the boys a tortilla and then different things to create their own faces. They thought it was awesome!

They had peaches, strips of ham, cheese, marshmallows and chocolate chips, Mickey Mouse chicken nuggets and raisins.

Here they each are showing off their creation.

Muffin Tin Monday

There was no theme this week so I just let the boys make requests.

Mini Cupcake, strawberries, cheese, pretzels, carrots (they didn't request it, but they don't mind them and 3 is about their limit :) and hot dogs

After taking a picture of just the food Easton asked if he could be in a picture. So there you go.

Just Me and Trey

Seth took the 3 older boys camping and I got to stay home with this cutie! So what did we do? Fall asleep at 8 and not get up till 8 (yes, that is totally sleeping in for me!), of course waking up every few hours to feed the little man, but it was still heavenly! Woo hoo!

Feeling Lucky?

5 Minutes for Moms is having a huge Back to School Giveaway!

Good Luck!

(My First) Muffin Tin Monday

A while ago I found this blog that had such a fun idea to help make lunch more exciting for the boys. When I got this out for the boys they got SO excited!! This week the theme was "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles".

I was totally struggling trying to come up with ideas, so it is a car sandwich and everything else is wheels (ha ha!) - cucumbers, grapes, mini rice cakes, and skittles. They loved it all and ate everything, even if they did start with the skittles. :)

Learn more about it and see other ideas at Her Cup Overfloweth.

Randomness

Proof that Mom is always right
Cole was teasing Peyton and goofing around. I said "Cole, if you keep doing that you're going to get hurt." He didn't stop and not more than 1o seconds later he bangs his head into the wall and immediately this purple bruise appeared. Can't really say 'I told you so' to a crying 4 year old so I kissed it better.
(the picture doesn't show just how bad it is)

Middle of the day Conversation:
Easton: (as he's running up the stairs with Cole) Mom! Mom! Cole's nose is bleeding! It's bleeding and nothing even happened. He didn't fall. He didn't bang it. He didn't pick it really hard.
Me: Cole, come here, let me see. What happened?
Easton: Nothing happened Mom. It just started bleeding.
Cole: Yeah, and even Easton didn't punch me in the nose.

Peyton somehow learned how to do real flips (although he doesn't land on his feet, but he is only two). I'm not sure how he learned but he just shocked me one day while jumping on my bed. He can't do them all the time and of course whenever I would get out the camera for proof (because he's never done one in front of anyone else) he would land on his head or use his hands, like he does in the video. But it's still cute.

Team Batman #4

Earlier this week we went school shopping for Easton. (I know! I can't believe he's almost starting Kindergarten either!) Before we went shopping I had decided I would also get the other boys one thing - thanks to an amazing coupon I won (yes, I won $75 off $100!). Easton had seen the superhero shirts at Old Navy before and asked for one but I didn't let him get one then. This time I told him he could pick one out. So of course Cole asked if he could have a Batman shirt after Easton picked one out. The minute Peyton saw them he started saying "Batman shirt? Batman shirt?" So we grabbed one for him as well and went to look at other things. Suddenly it hit me that I have 4 boys and there's no way I could only get 3 of them Batman shirts. And there you have it, the reason I now have a Batman Team.

Team Batman #3

These next 3 videos feature nothing exciting, I just wanted to share them for a certain aunt who I thought may enjoy them since she hasn't been able to see the boys for a while.
